Why World of Training?

The need for training in the underground industry is increasing while the number of resources which provide training is decreasing. As the underground infrastructure becomes more densely populated, the focus on accurate work processes and safety becomes paramount.

Training increases profits. Every dollar spent on training adds more than a dollar to the bottom line. Training increases profits by:

1) Identifying and rectifying human performance issues. Without the proper skills and habits, employees produce less work. In addition, the work they do perform is more likely to result in costly accidents.

2) Providing a unique communication link between field employees and management. Training often provides the much-needed pause for introspection—why we do what we do. This pause reinforces proper habits and sometimes identifies needs within the operation.
